Golden Wax Y50 is perfect for making scented container candles and moulded candles. This wax works especially well in warmer climates. While Golden Wax Y50 is a reliable wax-composition on its own, it also mixes well with other waxes like paraffin, stearic acids and more. It's an all-natural multifunctional fat-based wax with 100% soybean oil produced by global wax giant AAK under the Golden Brands name and specifically developed and formulated for containers and soft melts.
Y50 it's the Swedish version of USA 494, made with the same oil as the 494 made in the USA but manufactured in a different way and with no botanical additive to reduce frosting. This version has an excellent scent throw, exhibits vibrant colors, and releases easily from molds. This wax uses a 100% soy formula that creates a smooth appearance.
This wax has a very beautiful smooth reset between burnings.
This wax has a higher melting point than S41 and 464, all waxes being 100% soy wax, and that feature gives it the possibility to be used as container wax additive as well as wax for scented melts. Y50 is not intended to be used alone in containers.

Color
Most dyes work with Golden Wax Y50 including powder, liquid, or Bekro dyes. If you wish to make your wax darker, add a little black dye to the color you are using. To lighten use white dye.
Fragrances
Golden Wax Y50 may be used with fragrance at levels up to 10%, however, we recommend approximately 8% as this will give an excellent scent throw. Add fragrance close to the pour temperate, around 60 degrees, for best results. The wax will hold 10%+ of most fragrances, although 7-8% is usually more than enough.
Max. Fragrance Load: 10%
Melting
The melting temperature of Golden Wax Y50 is 49ºC - 52°C and it can be heated to 80 - 85°C. Allow the wax to cool to your desired pour temperature, add the fragrance at approximately 70°C, and mix well - be sure to stir/mix the wax while melting. Higher temperatures may cause the wax to discolor.
Pouring
Pour temperatures may vary according to type & size, fragrance & dye used. Pour temperatures should be reasonably high (71°C) unless you are pouring into plastic clamshells, so we recommend no higher than 55°C.
Cooling
Cool undisturbed melts at room temperature (about 21-24°C). They should be allowed to sit undisturbed for 48 hours before wick test burning.
Cure Time
We would suggest a cure time of 10-14 days before burning.
